Smart meter installations are only as valuable as the communications behind them. Our packages focus on restoring SMETS2 meter communications through DCC-driven diagnostics and focused on-site visits.

Core package

Standard Comms Recovery Visit

Best for non-comm SMETS2 meters where the root cause isn’t yet clear.

  • Pre-visit triage using DCC Other User services (including SRV 8.9).
  • On-site comms hub inspection and controlled power cycle.
  • HAN and WAN status checks where accessible.
  • Basic IHD/PPMID/CAD checks and pairing attempts.
  • Outcome report for each MPAN with suggested next actions.
Enhanced

Enhanced Comms & HAN Check Visit

Best for properties where HAN coverage is likely the issue, or where in-home devices are unreliable.

  • Everything in the Standard Comms Recovery visit, plus:
  • Enhanced HAN range and signal checks within the property.
  • Targeted relocation or replacement of IHD/PPMID within scope.
  • Identification of environmental factors affecting HAN performance.
  • Recommendations for additional equipment such as HAN extenders.
High-risk / high-value

Complete Comms Resolution Visit

Best for repeat comms failures, PSR customers or concentrated pockets of non-comms.

  • Detailed pre-site analysis of DCC data and historical events.
  • On-site comms hub work, HAN investigation and IHD/PPMID/CAD optimisation.
  • End-to-end scenario review and likely long-term stability.
  • Structured report with technical findings and portfolio-level insight.
  • Recommendations on which sites can be stabilised vs those needing exchange.

For sites where HAN coverage, property layout or building construction is a barrier, we can supply and install HAN extension solutions by agreement.

Our pricing is typically per-visit, structured so that it makes sense against your GSOP exposure and internal cost-to-serve. We’ll work with you to agree sensible criteria for when add-ons like SmartXtend are appropriate.

We can support you after incidents or outages with targeted batches of work, backed by DCC data and structured outcomes.

After DCC or system events, we help confirm which meters have returned to normal operation and which require field intervention, so you can prioritise visits.

We currently support selected regions across Great Britain. Initial focus can be agreed based on your portfolio hotspots and GSOP priorities.

Every visit is delivered under our Health & Safety, Lone Working, Grey Fleet and Vulnerable Customer policies, and aligned to your customer contact expectations.
Integration
We’ll agree MPAN file formats, DCC routes and reporting structures upfront, so that comms-recovery work integrates cleanly with your internal processes.
